This depends on the size and the location of the crack .  Small hairline cracks (less than 5cm in length) can be repaired. So the answer is 'no' for small cracks and 'yes' for larger cracks. Also if the crack block the critical view  to the front, then it is safer to have a full windscreen replacement.
